What Happened Last Time

Okay, it’s Monday again (case of the MUNDAYZ!? applicable, since I just watched Office Space again over the weekend ;p) and I needed an update to the blog. It’s been almost a week since the last update, and though not too much exciting happened, I might as well delve into what did happen.
Let’s wrap up last week’s discussion with the rap music video: haven’t really received much of a response from the group about their thoughts on the video, though I saw it pop up on one of their Myspace pages. Even a “thanks for the vid” would have sufficed, but I guess that’s asking too much. I ended up texting one of them, just to see if they even remembered who did the video for them. He said (exact words, in response to my “Did you see the video / what’d you think” text): “Yes i did its cool . I like the ending with the dancers . But i wish you would have made the bounce video to our bounce performance and just showed clips of everyone else but kept coming back to the performance of bounce . But all in all i really like your work you guys do a real good job.” He started to say something about “It would be nice…”, but it was cut off; guess the 3rd message never sent.
Wednesday was the first scheduled filming get together with Gavino. We decided we needed a day for this kind of stuff, and it finally came. We even filmed / recorded the audio of most of the night, which I’ll probably have up somewhere in the near future (could have done something with it this weekend, but after the rap video and what I’m about to discuss, I just wanted a break for a little while). When it is up, think of it as our first official podcast; a sort of documentary, in some way, showing our process in discussing what we should do and just things in general.
Anyway, after a whole bunch of lollygagging, we got down to business and finally came up with the idea to do a sort of continuation episode of the school project we had made. We went over different ideas, finally came up with something, and started shooting. Once we were done, we talked for a bit more and then I headed back to mom’s house, which I was watching that night and Thursday night while they were at LBI.
Thursday night I couldn’t work on the video since I had to watch mom’s again, and though I was invited back over Gavino’s to hang out, I had to make a stop over at my cousin Matt’s house to celebrate his daughter, Haley’s, birthday. Weren’t many people there, Joan, Brenda’s folks and sister/her husband (Anthony – everyone calls him Troke [I think that's how it's spelled...it's like "stroke" without the S]. My favorite quote of the night was from Brenda’s dad (? i think it is, maybe step dad, i’ve never really been sure), seeing me and before shaking my hand: (with gestures to pronounce it a bit more) “Hey John! Gettin’ bigger or am I gettin’ smaller?” (hand shake). So after cake and talking forever, I headed off to Gavino’s. We ended up watching Starship Troopers (apparently April has never seen it) and talked for a bit.
Friday through Sunday are left, let’s bang them out.
Friday night wasn’t anything too incredible. Went home, worked on the video we filmed on Wednesday, noticed we missed a few scenes that are sort of crucial to the story, and that Gavino is a bit too quiet when he acts…so we need to refilm with those things in mind (missing scenes will be easy, audio will need a bit of work – either better H2 placement or louder actors

Saturday I had to go over Joan’s house to socialize since uncle John and his wife (Clarece) / daughter (Jackie) came up for the week. It was alright I guess, though I never really like family things. Had food, some drinks, smoked, played some horseshoes, etc.; Guess it wasn’t enough though, because (though I didn’t go to the one they had on Sunday at Matt’s) I have to go to another get together on Tuesday this week, with uncle Paul also coming up. So sadly no WoW on Tuesday it would seem ~_~.
Speaking of WoW, it was sprinkled throughout the weekend. Friday night I played, though I don’t remember what I accomplished besides dailies and whatnot on the priest (finally been able to do cooking and fishing dailies =D). Between Friday and Saturday playing, I leveled my alli warrior to 20, got some new gear for her and have been enjoying leveling. Working towards my second epic flyer, this time for the priest (probably wasn’t the best idea to get it for my druid, but it’s so cool! ><). Did more dailies on Saturday and leveled cooking (357) / fishing (302) some more. I’m sort of hoping, with the buffs they’re giving some professions, that they do the same with cooking and fishing. Don’t know if I’ll keep alchemy, with all the changes like Potion Sickness (after one potion, unable to use additional potions until out of combat? ugh), and the buff isn’t the best: “Alchemical blood (changed to mixology recently) – You receive an increased effect when you drink an elixir, potion, or flask that you can make”. Guess we’ll see, come expansion.
Lastly, Sunday I went in the pool for a bit, and watched Rocket Science. There wasn’t enough people on for raid, so we put together a PVP Alli town raid and killed the Darnassus leader (Whisperwind) and Exodus leader (don’t remember). Almost had Ironforge guy, but a stupid PuG lock pulled aggro and walked out of his room, dragging a ton of adds along with him back into the room, causing us to wipe at 27%. We also TRIED Stormwind, but it didn’t go to well, to say the least. We finished the night with some Honor Hold pvp, but ended up getting destroyed as well (though our group was down to like 8 people).
I think that’s it for now. A whole week ahead of me, and I don’t know if I’m too thrilled about Tuesday…but I guess it has to be that way. I have to post in the attendance forums, ugh. I figure tonight I’ll do dailies and other WoW stuff, Tuesday is the family thing, so after I might farm some more (farmed around 5 primal shadows on Sunday, need 12 total and 9 primal lifes for shadow resist gear). Wednesday should be more filming (refilming what we did and hopefully the next episode as well, maybe more podcast stuff). That’s all that’s scheduled so far.
