Should I Give Up

August 25, 2008

The thought crosses my mind now and then, and it wasn’t this morning, but it was in a song that I like so I figured I’d make it the title of today’s unfortunately late blog entry. Now, the title isn’t really in reference to anything like giving up the blog or the video projects I’ve been working on. Of course, I’ve given up on things in the past, as I imagine some people have done in their lives before. Does everyone always finish things through in every aspect of their lives?

No, it’s not particularly in reference to anything in general, just a four worded open ended question. And why is this blog entry so late? Possibly because I was really busy working on things all weekend? No, just because of laziness and the fact that usually I try to get the entry done by Friday near the end of work or when I get home, but neither of those were a possibility and we’ll find out why it wasn’t the latter in a bit.

We have a lot to cover, so let’s get it over with so I can go to lunch :)

(last) Monday! (8/18): Not really much interesting that I can remember. Sorry last Monday, you obviously weren’t good enough to be remembered :P . Edit: One thing I looked up was that I sent an email on okcupid on this day and checked again today (8/25) to see if I received a reply…and nothing! So Monday, you’re still terrible, hah!

Tuesday: BT push. We wanted to get as close to Illidan as we could in hopes that we would be able to get some attempts in at him. And although we had a lot of afks and silly wipes, we still got RoS down by the end of the night.

Wednesday: Usual filming day, but Gavino & April said we shouldn’t because they wanted to discuss things about the show instead of filming a new ep. Before that however, I went to mom’s to grab some dinner.

We solidified our site name: Blue Screen of Death. After we had finalized it, it was just a matter of time before I got some website space from our good friends over at Powweb. Now we have space and the new site url!

www.BSofDeath.com

Nothing there yet, obviously, but throughout the week I’m HOPEFULLY going to have something up. Once I work on a layout, I can start uploading previous podcasts (audio for first, and hopefully video and audio for the next few) and probably the pilot episode (the original one that started it all). If we get a skit done this week, that may go up as well. I’m thinking of talking to Gavino and seeing if he wants to maybe do a commercial, like the “no hassle walking” commercial. Guess we’ll see in time!

Didn’t record a podcast again, so this Wednesday we’ll have to get back in the swing of things, whether it’s after or before filming. Speaking of filming, we did end up getting some green screen footage for me to play with. Ultimately, I found out that the green screen worked great, but the fact that it’s such a small green screen kind of makes it really hard to work with (especially cause it’s a PAIN the f’n ASS to put back in the bag). I sent an email to Gavino recently suggesting we follow others who buy cheap cloth and make their own screen.

Thursday: We wanted to get some Council attempt in after we went in and downed Mother, but we didn’t have a good enough makeup to handle it. So in light of that, we rushed into Hyjal and cleared up to Archimonde. Took a few stabs at him but stupid problems stopped us from clearing it. We put that on the calender as a Monday off night thing to down him (which sucks because I made plans for that night and wanted the helm >< so tired.

Saturday: Did some dailies, some heroics and whatnot. I can’t remember if it was today or Sunday that I started thinking about what I wanted to do w/my Paladin. She is my best PVP healing geared toon, but these days is my least favorite to heal on. I’ve gotten so used to the mobility and whatnot of my resto druid that having to stand around and heal or only toss myself small holy shocks now and then just isn’t cutting it. I thought about going ret, but then looked at the sad list of gear I had to work with. Then I thought that I might go back to working on prot, since I already have done it a few times before and had a decent amount of gear for it. All I gotta do is either heal heroics or do some karas, collect badges, and buy the tanking gear and then see if I have the ol’ prot paly tanking touch I used to have.

The night continued with battlegrounds and retro instances! We started with MC which we cleared (it was fun watching Rag go down again). Then we pushed into BWL up to Broodlord and AQ40, but we couldn’t get Viscidious or Huhuran down, so we called it there. All in all it was a pretty fun night.

Sunday: Didn’t do too many dailies, but got a few BG dailies done on other toons and other stuff with the guild. Did a pug ZG that stopped before Hex Lord because they were awful (well, we did get 3 timed chests, which is pretty good for a pug, but past that, ugh). After that it was back into BT!

Illidari Council went down after 3 shots. 9 1/2 minute epic 3rd attempt saw them die and we collected our loots. Everyone was pumped up with excitement to see Illidan, which was really cool. Everything from the door opening to the epic conversation between Akama, it was very fun. Then the actual fight started. We mastered phase 1, which really wasn’t too hard for the most part. Phase 2, the most colorful, fires everywhere in your face, exploding blue death beams phase there ever is…kept us at bay. We couldn’t pass it. By the end of the night, we finally got one Flame of Azzinoth down, which I guess is pretty good.

So that’s it up to this point. Exciting as usual, I know. We have Illidan on watch though. 3 1/2 more phases to go! It’s really cool that we at least got to this point, especially because a lot of the ppl in the guild have school starting this week and coming up, so I’m sure that’s gonna hurt our attendence soon. Getting Illidan down would be a massive push for our gulid and (I could only imagine, since it will do it for me) will boost morale for everyone in general. We’re currently (due to another guild breaking up recently) 4th for Horde on our server. Sunwell soon!!! :)

Plans for this week? Some festival w/mom tonight. Said she called me Saturday to see if I wanted to go Sunday, but I saw no missed calls whatsoever, but w/e. Might miss Arch tonight, but I mentioned that already. Back into BT Tues. Filming Wed (hopefully a new ep? new skit? we’ll see). Illidan Thrusday? Party time action Friday?! lol, guess we’ll have to wait and see. Julius texted me at god awful 10AM on Sunday, I know he wants a music video soon. Gotta talk it over w/Gavino.

You’re the queen of the superficial, and how long before you tell the truth

World Without Wikipedia

August 18, 2008

What an impossible thing to think of these days, huh? It’s sort of like how cell phones, computers/the internet, and the such have become a staple in today’s society. Just ask someone if they know of such-and-such, and in two minutes they can have the entire background of the topic at hand in front of them by going to everyone’s favorite website, wikipedia.org

It almost brings us to a time in our generation where it’s almost a crime NOT to know about certain things. Can I get through a day where someone will mention something, and if I say “huh” or give a glazed look of bewilderment and not receive the comment “WHAT?! How do you not know this?”. It’s true. How often do you go home and have a list of things that you need to look up and add to your already long list of random facts and interesting tidbits that have made home inside your brain?

What makes me think of discussing this? My friend Gavino made a comment about the band The Black Kids, in reference to us trying to decide on a website name this weekend. His comment was something along the lines of “it’s like that band, The Black Kids. There’s no black people in the band”. I obviously retorted with “um, the lead singer is black, and his little sister is in the band as well”. Why did I know this? Well, besides the fact that I did come across them a few months from hearing them on XM radio (I think at the time it was “I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance” playing), I looked them up on Wikipedia, just like I do with most media related things that I come across and find interesting.

ANYWAY, time to dabble into this weekend’s activities that passed. We have Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday to go over (DRR, that would be the WEEKEND wouldn’t it), so let’s kick it off with…

FRIDAY (night): Went to mom’s after work for dinner. We ate, played some Upwords afterwards, and I showed her the episode we worked on the week before. They both really enjoyed the episode, and Terry liked the music video that I had made. It’s always fun to receive positive comments on things :)

Hopped on WoW when I got home. They had already started drunken kara without me (even though it was only like 9:20PM). I did dailies, BGs with Luke, etc. I didn’t want to do arenas. I told Luke and Carl (who came on later) that arenas were pointless. Unless I was going to horde points (arena & honor) for the expansion, I saw no reason to spend it on gear that would be outdated soon. Different from PVE, which in my mind had goals to accomplish (like our closing in on Illidan and hopefully getting into Sunwell and finishing that before the xpac).

Anyway, Carl gets on and starts crying about how he wants to do arenas. So we agree we’ll do the minimum 10 on our toons after killing Onyxia. Usually it’s not too bad in there, but for some reason we had the worst time ever. Our record is 3 manning her, but we couldn’t even do 4-man after three or so attempts. Saddened by our loss, we went and did some horrible arenas on two sets of toons and called it a night.

SaTuRaY: Woke up early-ish (lol 10:30?) to get ready to head over Gavino’s. When I got there, we watched the latest video we had worked on earlier that week:

http://www.vimeo.com/1539087

It needs some work obviously, but we got some laughs out of it. After that we watched the first episode of the new Tim and Eric Awesome Show: Great Job season. Some chuckles and Mega Man 7 action later, we were off on the road to Digital Press.

We got there and started perusing the store as usual. Gavino was looking for an xbox 360 light gun for some Sega CD action, April and I weren’t looking for anything in particular. They ended up not getting anything, but I bought some old video game cards (these old cards from the 80s that come in packs of 5, with stickers and scratch offs of old games like Zelda/Mario and the such – 99 cents a piece).

We left and started heading to Mitsuwa Marketplace. I was so hungry, but also had to pee. So when we got there and stared at the packed parking lot (it’s always SO packed there…it’s really incredible), I shook my fist in anger. We finally foundĀ a spot, went to use the bathrooms, and then gawked at the deliciousness that is Japanese cuisine. Gavino go some mayonnaise shrimp & rice, April got some steak of sorts, they both got us all some appetizers, and I got a nice big bowl of shio (salt) ramen, YUM.

Afterwards, we went across to Kinokuniya to check out the awesome books, magazines, stationary, kids books, educational guides, and the like. I saw Bump of Chicken had released two new albums in the last year (one in ‘07 and one this year), so I made note to go home and check that out (acoustic version of Everlasting Lie? YAY).

We went from there to Mars, the toy store area (after passing through the teas/sake sets to get there – eyeing up the awesomeness along the way). Before leaving, Gavino had to point out the incredible Russian Roulette game they had available. It was some sort of contraption that you set up with a balloon and it either squeezed it to make it pop or shot a pin into the balloon. Either way, it was pretty insane and we wanted to buy it just for the fact that it existed, but we had to pass.

To finish up the Japanese marketplace extravaganza, we went to the food store and started to check out what we would fill our basket with that day. We got the usual alcohol (like beer for Gavino, sake for the rest of us [sparkling sake is like delicious champagne]) and candies/snacks (my jelly chews and soy bean pod chips). I also picked up two ramune bottles, but they weren’t the usual ones that I get (although they have, duh) – instead of the ones that you have to force the marble down to get to it’s sweet liquids, they had these new twist cap ones. Yeah, it takes away from the fun, but I figured Jewel would like to try this new kind.

After picking up some yummy red bean paste filled pastries and soy bean ice cream with almond maple syrup sauce, we were on our way home. When we got back to Gavino’s apartment, we watched two more episodes of Tim and Eric season 3, and then after suggesting it on the ride, we watched the new Morgan Spurlock documentary, Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden (in full this time, hah). We all enjoyed it, and it was a fun way to end the night.

sunDAY: Got up a little later, hopped on WoW, and started the day. Grinded the usual dailies and noticed I was very close to 5k gold for my 2nd epic flying mount. I hopped on all my toons and started selling anything that I realized was pretty useless and would never need come WotLK. It ended up putting me at around 5050G, but I needed more (not only to buy the mount itself at 160G [nether ray], but to at least have gold for repairs and whatnot for the raid that night).

So I hopped on my mage and did some dailies, sold some more stuff on the AH, and ended up buying the training and mount on my priest. I was torn between who I should buy it for, the priest or the paly, but then I realized that I still have a few months until WotLK comes out…what’s stopping me from getting one for my paly? Sure I bought a bit of gold for the druid’s epic flyer, but I did ALL the grinding for my priest’s mount and in all honesty, just hopping on now and then, doing dailies, selling stuff on the AH…wasn’t too bad. So my next goal is to get an epic flyer for my paly and save up gold after that for the expansion.

We headed into BT that night to start Illidari Council for the first time. Our best attempt that night was 14%…fucking close eh? Sadly, we didn’t down them last night, and although it will reset come Tuesday, we will push back in there and hopefully have Illidan down soon. Then it’s just a few Illidan farming runs, some Hyjal runs for those who need anything (gear/rep), and then onto Sunwell!

I won’t go too much into what we talked about with the show, but it’s definitely going a step in the right direction. One tidbit of info I’ll give is the podcast name: Fuzzy Face and the Plus Sized Gentleman. After that, it’s all in the works. We definitely talked about good stuff on Saturday, and hopefully this Wednesday, we’ll fill in some episode gaps from what we already have, and push forward into this project.

Another week awaits. Monday through Friday. Work work work. Let’s see by Friday how things go, shall we? Today? Easy. Tomorrow? We’ll have to wait for that, won’t we? I get paid this Friday, maybe I’ll take the folks out somewhere to eat? Or buy some groceries? I don’t know, something.

Everything looks perfect from far away

A Few Hours of Light

August 15, 2008

Let’s see what’s on the plate for this week: Monday through today.

As I stated before, I won’t to into work discussion unless something interesting enough happened.

Monday! The guild left Archimonde up because they suck :P So we went in and one-shotted him on this usually non-raid scheduled night. That was fun, it’s always good to log onto WoW and just fuck a boss up quick and get the hell outta there. I still need tier 6, but since people have been soaking it up in Hyjal, and now that we’ve progressed further in Black Temple (which will be discussed later), I feel I’ll upgrade better pieces first and hopefully we’ll traverse back into Hyjal when we’ve cleared BT and I can fill in the missing pieces.

After WoW, I worked on the first episode that we reshot. Just to recap: the “1st episode” is actually the second one we’ve done, but our original episode is sort of the 0 (ZERO) episode, maybe a pilot if you will, that fueled us to continue working on the series. Anyway, besides the dance scene we want to add (with me dancing in front of a green screen that we have to shoot one day), the episode is pretty much done:

http://vimeo.com/1513176

It was originally going to be called What Happened That Day, but because I put “Nearly There” in parenthesis, it seems like I might stick with that for whatever crazy reason (I put that there because the episode was nearly complete). Since our episode layout is still under discussion, I put a sort of gag reel at the end of the first episode to lighten it up a bit and keep the glasses slap in there, even though we laughed during both takes.

Tuesday! We headed into Black Temple for the new WoW week to take care of some bosses and clear up to progression fights (like RoS). We cleared everything up to Bloodboil, who we barely got before the night was over due to a wipe on Supremus, Gorefiend, and one or two on BB himself. This left us with only RoS to work on for Thursday, which is good, because we had already gotten him to phase 3 before, and I knew we’d get him next time we came in.

I took the first podcast footage and audio off the hardware and onto my computer. It took me a little while since it’s an hour long (and in the future, I may or may not have to play around with video settings or do something to make it easier to extract the video to my comp). I put it up on Blip.TV and sent it to Gavino to check out, but he ended up being embarrased by the way he was shown (apparently he didn’t realize the way he was sitting and the camera’s angle). I ended up taking the video down but kept the flash file (since the raw video footage was like 10GB; flash file was around 2-300MB). When we actually make a site and get it all situated, I’ll host the audio for the first podcast and hopefully video from there on (2 & 3 seemed to have better angles).

Wednesday! Filming day. It was time to start discussing and filming for episode 2. We ended up getting probably 90% of the footage we needed, and though I haven’t watched it all yet, I have a feeling it’s going to be great. Either way, I’m going to mess with the footage tonight (Friday) so that we can check it out and discuss what needs to change/be added/taken out/etc. and we’ll fill in the gaps accordingly (I have to film the “blinking in and out of the car” scene and another scene or two of blinking, like in my office [which I wanted to do today, but I forgot the teleportation machine in my bag], and backyard/field of some sort).

Anyway, after filming, we came back and played some video games (like Braid) and watched some stuffs (Teen Girl Squad and other Homestarrunner fun stuffs). I won’t discuss too much about what we filmed exactly until I post a link on how it’s looking, then I’ll talk about it.

Thursday! Back to Black Temple. After a few discouraging RoS attempts, we finally got that fuck face (fuck faces?) down. The guild happily started making our shadow resist gear so we could get Mother Shaz attempts in. I had to buy a few primals (life and shadow) to fill in the gaps of my non-farming (I did have 6 shadow 1 life, but I needed like 12 shadow 9 life ><). I also had to buy some primal fires to make my updated spell damage alchemist stone =D. We headed up through the fun trash to Mother, and after 3 attempts (2 if you don’t count the horrible first one) downed the bitch quite easily…yay tier 6 shoulders for people!

After Mother, I started watching Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden, but I was a bit intoxicated, so I fell asleep (though I do want to finish it, because it was really good).

Friday! Well, since I haven’t LEFT work yet, I guess it’s the only thing to talk about…though it hasn’t been very exciting (but surprisingly busy). And that’s all I have to say about work!

Plans for this weekend/upcoming?! Tonight is mom’s house for dinner and upwords possibly. After that, it’s head home and work on the video, hop on WoW and do dailies / BGs and possibly drunken kara / other stuffz! Saturday, Gavino & April want to do our Digital Press/Mitsuwa Marketplace extravaganza, so we’ll probably do that. Then all that’s left is talking about episode 3 and other questions/suggestions, get podcast 2 up (and hopefully not down immediately GAVINO lol), film again on Wednesday…and life goes on!

Cause if you’re not really here, then the stars don’t even matter

So I have Friday night and up until now (Monday, 3:04AM) to talk about. Not much of a time difference, but I guess I did some stuff.

Friday night, I went to Gavino’s to have some board game action. That’s what it was originally going to be, until we went out to get some liquor. I bought us some vodka (3 olives citrus, I believe) some tequila (this strawberry cream flavored), and some bloody mary mix (for Gavino). We went back and started drinking immediately. We were playing some SNES, some Family Feud and Zombies Ate My Neighbors, then we finally tried switching to board games. April and I had drank the same amount really up until that point, Gavino wasn’t trying to get wasted. The strawberry cream tequila was so amazingly good (I think it was called Tequila Rose). Had a mojito, a midori sour, and some more shots. We were originally going to play Lord of the Rings Risk, but then we switched to Life. That didn’t last too long, and after half an hour or so, we were rolling around on the floor and finished the night watching Family Guy.

Saturday wasn’t too thrilling, from what I remember. I woke up late (even though I originally woke up at around 11AM) – like around 2pm. Played WoW for most of the day. Procrastination or forgetfulness attributed to me not doing anything with the video footage from last Wednesday. I was able to sell some stuff on the AH, do dailies, and whatnot (should have leveled the warrior). I forgot to add that when I got home Friday night, I did some arenas w/Luke and Carl). This night, Jared was on and we ran his priest through Strat while he did a bit of Salvia. We listened on vent and just cracked up. We did some horrible arenas, then Jared went to bed, so the rest of us went on Halo 3 for a bit.

Sunday was the day for Gavino’s birthday dinner. I already spent around $160 during the week, on Boston’s from Wednesday night ($105-ish after tip), and drinks on Friday ($55-ish), give or take. So I told Gavino I didn’t want it to get too pricey, but it wasn’t too much of a problem. It’s been a slightly bad month due to the excessive price of partying, and not to mention it’s car insurance premium month. So couple $475 premium with $360 car payment, and you’ve got around an $840 month in just car stuff. Well, I’ll go into the Rodizio, but it ended up being another $115 to the list of food/drink related stuff with Gavino & April, putting me at the grand total of $275-ish. Bump that up to $300 and it gets pretty hefty. Ahh well, gotta have fun now and then eh?

So we decided to go to this Rodizio up north, though the traffic and rain weren’t looking too great. I had never been to a rodizio before, but I figured it sounded delicious enough, and I’m not one to push away yummy food, especially buffet style meat. We got there, and it was a pretty fancy place. It seemed like a normal buffet at first, with some good looking food, fried rice, empanadas, and sushi. After a little while, these guys walking around with skewers of meat and huge knives came to the table and started unloading all sorts of incredibly delicious meats upon us. It was amazing, and tons tons tons of food. I’d love nothing more to go back one day. The only food I didn’t really like too much were the chicken hearts (which were order only and Gavino/April wanted them; they weren’t bad tasting, were pretty good actually, but for some reason the thought of eating a chicken’s heart was a little too much for me), and the quail (just tasted like chicken).

We drove home, and it was peaceful. Rain on the parkway, calm night, cool outside. Gavino seemed upset that the bill was high, cause he had told me it wouldn’t be too expensive. I told him not to worry about it. He says he’ll repay me one day for this stuff and I told him not to worry about it, but he kept insisting. I don’t want to feel like I’m buying their friendship. I know they say they love me, and I really think it’s great. I don’t think I’ve ever had friends that said that to me. Chris and I were close, and we were friends for a long time, but I don’t know. I guess it’s a different kind of friendship now (with Gavino/April and I). A bit more mature, I suppose? There are things I get a bit upset about, but it seems to pass quickly (though some things I probably won’t ever get over, and I guess I have to, as Gavino puts it, “(you’re stuck with us,) deal with it”).

We finished the night with some Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life.

Finished tonight with some quick WoW: checking AH sales, fishing a bit, etc. Tomorrow (well, in a few hours) is the new work week…guess we’ll see how much better things go this week. Filming episode 2 stuff on Wednesday, and that’s all the plans I can forsee (except possible Archimonde tonight and whatever raid Tuesday).

NAIHGTZ!

Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice, you make it now

What Was the Name…

August 8, 2008

…of that margarita I drank two nights ago? It was delicious, but I don’t remember what it was called. It probably had to do with the fact that I had a Long Island Iced Tea before hand, and then told Gavino and April to pick out my next drink.

Anyway, welcome! It’s Friday and a week has gone by. Something interesting had to happen in my life, wouldn’t you think?! Well let’s pick apart the week and find out!

MONDAY: Normal day at work. I think this may have been the only day, when I got home, that I played my alli warrior. I got her to level 22, sold some stuff on the AH, got around 6 gold finally. It’s hard starting over on a new server…not being able to send yourself bags, gold, gear, anything. But it’s been an experience, I’ll say. Two achievements I’d like to have done before WotLK comes out: Illidan down on Gurubashi, and level 70 on the Terokkar warrior. Throughout the week I did dailies on the priest, including the increasingly interesting cooking/fishing dailies. I have GOT to remember to do the Stranglethorn fishing contest…oh fuck, I have to take Gavino out that day? Ooh wait, that might be for dinner though…guess we’ll see!

TUESDAY: (From now on, unless something interesting happens at work, I’ll just skip even mentioning it) They’ve been doing classes at work to educate certain groups on the new 3D architectural CAD that’s coming out (or is out, I really don’t know). So the “LGA Learning Center” has been closed off for only people taking the class. Not very intersting, but figured I might as well mention it for whatever reason.

After work, I drove to mom’s house. Uncle John (& his family) AND Paul would be there. Of course, for some reason I had my koi fish shirt on, so I had some people complimenting on it, and others (like Paul) saying “IS THAT JAPANESE?!”. I shouldn’t complain, it’s not like I see them often, and at this point in my life, do I really care? So we ate dinner, I helped with random stuff. Mom fell down cause of her knee and other nerve damage problems, but she went to the dotcor the next day. Hopefully the things she’s going to get done in the future will help her, I feel bad that she’s this way. We also played Chicago Rummy (or Gin Rummy? I don’t remember – the one w/the sets and runs). At first I was sucking up a storm, then I was in 3rd for a little bit. I may or may not have ended in the same position.

I got home just in time to get in after Supremus was downed. Guild was having problems (2 wipes on trash, 2 on Supremus, etc). We finished off Akama and Gorefiend, then got stuck on Bloodboil.

WEDNESDAY: Went to Gavino’s to do some filming. Got our 2nd podcast recorded, and I’m hoping (either tonight or tomorrow) to get the 1st one up somewhere (I have to think of how to do it…I want to have the audio up somewhere [maybe I'll save that for the website, SOMEDAY] and the video can’t be too large – I’ll make a new vimeo account and start putting them there) by Sunday at the latest (aiming for Saturday). We got to reshoot the missing scenes, but I really hope we got everything we needed. I have this feeling we didn’t, but I guess I can piece it all together. We also added some different things to it which will hopefully make it even more interesting.

Besides filming, we went to Boston’s to get something to eat and drink. Gavino and April suggested that we have a new format for the episodes. To make them a little longer and more pleasing to the public (whenever we make a website/get webspace), we’ll have 3 part segments: 1st part will be the new skit, 2nd part will be a review or a “You Call That An Opinion” sketch or whatever else we throw in the second part (nothing too random, a bit more serious, but not enough to scare people away), and the 3rd part will be the extras section (bloopers, funny scenes we didn’t put in the skits, etc.). All in all, it should / hopefully will work out in the end…the future will tell!

TURRZDAY (Ya’ll biscuit heads): BT raid wasn’t too bad, but it was a night of Reliquary of Souls (RoS from now on) attempts. I already discussed it all on the forums (crimsonguild.net), but we got to the 3rd phase, probably around 70% (though Supermassive died both times we got there w/everyone up like right off the bat). We didn’t do Bloodboil because we wanted to work on progression, and we did progress…though we didn’t down RoS, we got the strat down pretty well and should have him Sunday if we go in there again.

FRIDAY: What a boring day at work. NOTHING going on. There was a job or two I did, and helped Art/Raou bring some marine equipment in, but besides that, it’s been computer all day. Tonight I’m going to mom’s for dinner as usual, then over to Gavino’s afterwards for our first “Friday Night Board Game Extravaganza”. That’s not what it’s name, but it’s the first thing that came to mind. It should be fun, not only because it’s our first one, but it’s also 8/8/08 and I threw out the option that we should drink drink drink :) .

On that note, I want to say, like I said in texts to people and on the forums: It’s 8/8/08. It’s only happening once in our lifetime. I don’t even remember if I did anything for last year’s 7/7/07 or even 6/6/06, but hopefully this year, especially since I’ve been blogging again, will be a bit more memorable. And think about it: We’ve only got 4 more years of this left, ending with 12/12/12, which people say will be the end of the world! Anyway, anyone who reads this or thinks about today as a special day, enjoy it!

Weekend plans? I’ll probably mow the lawn for dad/carol tomorrow, and hopefully get a podcast up at some point, and work on the skit. Sunday, I’m taking Gavino and April out for his birthday (Monday) to Joe’s Crab Shack (I believe that’s the name). Food is always good, so I’m sure it will be an enjoyable time. Besides that, nothing else comes to mind.

Lollapalooza’s 2008 recap is playing on XMU atm, so I won’t be able to really say what I’m currently listening to because not only do I not know who this currently is, but these speakers at work are awful, so even if I did know, I probably wouldn’t know what to link lyric wise ;p.

later!
