Starting over
July 15, 2008
So I’ve decided to finally make a blog again. I figured I could always restart my xanga back up, but why do that when I can start over, fresh and new. I’ve heard good things about wordpress, and I figured for now, I’ll use their .com system and probably one day switch over to my own site, using the software they have over at .org
I’ve been contemplating starting a new blog because I didn’t know what I would write about. But then I realized that I do have lots going on in my head, and what better medium to use than a blog to express what I have going on in there. It will let me write about things that usually I think afterwards “I probably should have written that down”.
So Gavino, his girlfriend April, and I went on an adventure on Saturday. Got there around 1PM, and we decided that we wanted food. I brought over my camera equipment because we wanted to shoot some stuff (more on that later). We went and got some chinese food (I may upload some of the audio from that) at a buffet, then decided to go up to Digial Press (www.digitpress.com) in Clifton.
It was their first time there (I was there a month earlier meeting the Angry Video Game Nerd) and I think they had a great time. I picked up a copy of Cooking Mama for Jewel’s bday on Monday (July 14th – ended up giving it to her the next day, Sunday) and a copy of the Retroware TV (www.retrowaretv.com) season 1 dvd (which I had no idea what it was at the time). They had some other stuff there for the DS that I’ve had my eye on, which I’ll probably be purchasing soon:
- My Word Coach
- My French Coach
- Brain Age 2
Gavino and April got a copy of Chu Chu Rocket I believe, while I played some arcade games. We were there quite a while, checked out all the store had to offer (which was nice, seeing as I didn’t get much time to check it out when James Rofle was there). We finally left and needed someplace else to go.
Once the TomTom was synched up, we plotted in some Kinokuniya/Mitsuwa Marketplace action into it and saw it was only like 25 minutes away. “Fuck, lets do it” I excalimed, and we were on our way. It really was pretty close, and I wish I had the camera out to get the nice waterfront view on the way there and when we left at night (it’s so awesome looking, I’ll get it one day). Speaking of camera, I think all I really got that day was some car stuff, some mall stuff (which we went to after the chinese buffet, come to think of it), and some of the creepy cemetary way up past exit 150 on the parkway.
So at Mitsuwa Marketplace, we went into Mars (the cool toy place there). I got the other gift for Jewel, a charm with the Maneki Neko (good luck cat [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maneki_Neko]) and a smaller cat inside of it. I didn’t get to see what G&A got, but I’m sure it was cool. Then we went into Mitsuwa and bought up some delicious goodies. I got a big can of Asahi beer (he hadn’t had or seen them before), some Creme Sake (to go with the “lets try this stuff!” Sparkling Sake they got), some candies, and other stuffs. They didn’t have the awesome car air freshener jelly thing I had bought last time, but it was still a good trip. This random guy needed my lug-nut wrench cause he had a flat (in the parking lot), so we sifted through my horribly messy trunk and go it for him.
When we got back to their apartment, we tried both flavors of sake (the cream flavored one wasn’t too great, but the sparkling one wasn’t bad) and had some other drinks while watching the strange dvd I bought (it wasn’t terrible, just informational instead of entertaining).
Wow, I realize now that I have way more to talk about than I thought. I’m gonna save stuff like: What happened Sunday (nothing interesting, just more to write about), video ideas we need to do, other fun stuff to blog about (like tonight’s raid and WoW in general). So, I guess it was a good idea I started up a blog again. It’ll give me something to do when I’m sitting around doing nothing (like days at work that seem to drag on forever, like today; like days I’m sitting at home after work or on the weekends wondering what to do; etc).
I hope you enjoyed my first entry as much as I enjoyed writing it.
